Maria Trott came to the Macleay Valley in 1981,
from Tamworth NSW, where she worked as a layout artist and photo technician for the Northern Daily Leader. Born in Manly, NSW. From a young age she was always passionate about horses. Noted Australian artist and family friend Arthur Murch nurtured her artistic talent.
During her childhood years he taught her how to draw and paint a horse anatomically correct
from the inside out, by learning the bone structure and muscle formation.
Maria went on to study art at the Randwick School of Graphic Art,
and later at the Institute of Technology in Sydney
and worked in various commercial art positions before moving to Tamworth.
She now has a studio at her home in Mid North Coast NSW
where she has built up a reputation as a fine equine artist, portrait painter and illustrator
