Species   Description
Banksia baueri
Possum Banksia 		WA Native Dense rounded shrub to 3m. Attractive foliage. Very large soft hairy flowers in spring. Most soils.
Banksia blechnifolia WA Native Prostrate creeping shrub to 2m. Attractive red cones spring/summer. Well-drained soils. Sand binding.
Banksia ericifolia
Heath Banksia 		  Large shrub to 7m. Orange red flowers in winter and spring. Most soils and some coastal exposure.
Banksia grandis
Bull Banksia 		WA Native Bush Food Large shrub to 6m. Ornamental foliage with large yellow cones Spring and summer. Well-drained soils. Tolerates dryness and salt soils.
Banksia menziesii
Menzies Banksia 		WA Native Small tree with attractive foliage and reddish flowers in autumn and winter. Well-drained soils.
Banksia occidentalis
Red Swamp Banksia 		WA Native Large shrub or small tree to 7m, fine foliage with abundant red flower spikes in summer and autumn. Most sandy soils. Tolerates salt, lime and frost.
Banksia praemorsa
Cut Leaf Banksia 		WA Native Shapely medium to large shrub to 4m, short toothed leaves and large wine to purple flower spikes in winter and spring. Well-drained soils. Tolerates salt, lime and dryness. Coastal gardens and windbreaks.
Banksia prionotes
Acorn or Orange Banksia 		WA Native Large spreading shrub or small tree to 10m, long narrow scalloped leaves, large orange flower spikes in autumn and winter. Very well drained soils. Tolerates salt, lime and dryness. Coastal plantings and cut flower.
Beaufortia schaueri WA Native Small shrub 1m. Pink flowers in spring. Well-drained soil. Tolerates dryness. Usually frost resistant.
Beaufortia sparsa
Swamp Bottlebrush 		WA Native Erect shrub to 3m, dark green foliage crowded along branches, striking scarlet brush flowers late summer and autumn. Well-drained soils. Tolerates frost. Good cut flower.
Bossiaea linophylla
WA Sun Bush 		WA Native Small shrub to 2m. Yellow and red pea flowers in spring. Hardy fast growing. Reasonable drainage. Good small screen.
