Cellar Door
Zarephath Wines operates a cellar door outlet on the Priory grounds. The ambiance is friendly, peaceful, and representative of the character of the community. Situated on a hillside with views of Mt. Manypeaks and the surrounding countryside, it offers the visitor a refreshing change from the usual hectic pace of modern life.
Members of the community staff the tasting room, which is carved out of one end of "le shed", a barn type structure built by the community and converted into living quarters before it was finished. Our other building, an old house built by Italian war-time detainees, shares the grounds with a fabulous flower garden that is managed by Sister Abigail, when she is not working in the vineyard. Dry-stone walls built by Brother Cornelius provide an appropriate rustic ambiance in this relatively isolated location.
The cellar door is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm, Sundays from 12pm to 4pm.
